Easy Cheesy Garlic Knots Kids Will Make and Eat

Soft, fluffy and fun to make, cheesy garlic knots are a breeze to throw together with kids in the kitchen! These fly off the plate and have been a big hit for friends. They get very excited to show how they can make this beautiful dish to their friends for lunch. This is almost as easy as the Rainbow Cheesecake Bars that were the top kids recipe last year in the Cafe!

I love a good short cut and I use Grand Biscuits for every little thing, from monkey bread to these flaky, savory, scintillating cheesy garlic knots or bread bites. We have made them half the size and they are still nice and chewy, but have more of a crusty exterior. If you prefer them cheesier, you can add a thin layer of cheese over the top about half way through cooking. I like a mix of shredded parmesan and mozzarella. Nom!

No matter what brand of biscuit you use, just keep the size of each cheesy garlic bread bite about the same size so they cook evenly.

Equipment

Baking pan
Pastry brush
Measuring spoons

Ingredients

1 can Grands Biscuits
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Garlic butter sauce
1-2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp garlic paste
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning

Directions:

(Yield: 10 balls)
Preheat the oven to 375.
Split the biscuits in half.
Lightly stretch them just a little.
Add a handful (1-2 tsp) mozzarella cheese.
Tuck and fold the biscuit dough over and roll in your hands to make sure the cheese
won’t seep out.
Spray pan with butter spray (Pam) or butter the pan.
Mix together the ingredients for the garlic butter sauce.
Brush balls with butter.
Sprinkle with salt.
Bake for 18-20 mins (check around 15 min.).
Brush with garlic sauce after they are done.
Serve warm and enjoy. If you reheat in the microwave, cover with a cloth towel with a spritz of water and they should fluff right back up and not get that weird hard shell the microwave tends to create.
